Oregano Essential Oil has long been known for it's many health benefits. While it's not my favorite smelling oil, it's my favorite as far as it's wide range of uses.
Oregano Essential Oil is known to be:
Anti-bacterial
Anti-fungal
Anti-Viral
Anti-Parasitic
How to use Oregano Essential Oil Topically
This powerful oil is known as a "hot" oil, meaning that if you use it topically without diluting it, it can burn or irritate your skin. For that reason, when using topically, it must be diluted very carefully.
First, coat your hand with a carrier oil. I like to cup my hand and make sure the palm of my hand has plenty of the carrier oil. This can be olive oil, coconut oil, or even a plain lotion. Really, whatever you have on hand.
Then add just one drop of Oregano Essential Oil to the carrier oil. Mix it in with the carrier oil, take a few deep breaths so it gets into the lungs and sinuses, and then rub the oils onto the bottom of the feet, on the arch, where your skin is the thinnest. This will allow it to get into the blood stream. Put some socks on. Then cup your hands over your face (close your eyes) and take a few more deep breaths. Make sure to avoid touching your eyes. And then wash your hands very well.
For acute issues, I use this twice a day. If you tolerate the 1 drop of oregano ok, you can increase to 2.
Cautions
Oregano Essential Oil is not safe for pets or young kids, so this is only safe to use topically on humans ages 12 and up. And make sure not to difuse this oil around pets or kids.
Oregano can also be used internally in capsule form, but it must be in a form that is approved for internal use. You can get 10% off both topical and capsule forms on my dispensary here: https://us.fullscript.com/welcome/kcullen
For locals, I usually have this on hand if you want to place an order to pick up at the office.
